A disabled freelance journalist, Jacob Anderson-Minshall co-hosts the Gender Blender radio show on KBOO 90.7 fm, in Portland, Oregon and is a frequent contributor to Bitch magazine. Between 2005-2009, he wrote and self-syndicated the weekly column TransNation that ran in queer publications from San Francisco to New York, and on GayWired.com.

Jacob wrote an essay "The Enemy Within: On Becoming A Straight White Guy," for Shira Tarrant's anthology Men Speak Out: Views on Gender, Sex, and Power. Recently Jacob discussed his views on masculinty as a guest on New York's WBAI Women Body & Soul talking with host Nathalie Thandiwe, Shira Tarrant and several other Men Speak Out contributors. Jacob also has a piece in Trans People in Love. His first short story, "Chinook," appears in the upcoming anthology PDX Queer.

With his wife, Diane, Jacob co-authors the Blind Eye mystery series. Their latest Blind Faith, is a Lambda Literary Award Finalist in Lesbian Mystery. Together the co-conspirators co-founded Portland's monthly LGBTQ literary series, QLiterati!; and are currently writing their relationship memoir, Queerly Beloved.

Jacob's interest in crime was intensified with the 2000 murder of his brother-in-law, Tom Sherwood, in Pocatello, Idaho. To this date the case remains unsolved. If you have information about the murder, please contact the Bannock County Sheriff Department.

Jacob's graphic design work focuses particularly on creating publicity materials.

Before undergoing a gender transition, Jacob spent two decades in the guise of a lesbian feminist. During that time he received a M.A. in Rhetorical Criticism, co-founded Idaho State University’s LGBT student association, co-founded the lesbian magazine Girlfriends, and began his life’s romance with his wife Diane, who has been his partner for 19 years.
